Self-love and feeling worthy

Self-love and feeling worthy

Do you feel worthy? Do you truly love yourself? To love yourself forces you to face everything you hate about yourself. It could be a skin thing, weight issues, squishy arms or maybe you were rude to someone and feel bad about it.

We all have things we do not like about ourselves or feel terrible about. But then, why do some people radiate self-love and confidence?

You are stuck with yourself for the rest of your life. You might as well spend time getting to know and love yourself, right?

Here are some simple tips to add to your self-love ritual, building your confidence and feeling worthy.

1. Be kind to yourself.

Be your own cheerleader. Focus on the things you do love about yourself. Dish out some compliments to yourself. Remind yourself daily that you are worth it and you are beautiful. Build yourself up as you would someone else that you love.

When you have discouraging thoughts, recognise them and challenge them. Try looking at it from a different point of view.

Forgive yourself more. It is ok to make mistakes. Mistakes are human.

Stop trying to compare and compete with others all the time. Spend time with yourself and set your own goals. Everyone has their own journey in their own time. You are discouraging yourself by comparing yourself to others.

Remind yourself that you have the right to feel good about yourself!

2. Assert yourself

Do not compromise on the things that are most important to you. You should never have to be apologetic for who you are or what you believe in!

Remember to set your boundaries and practise saying no at times that make sense to you. Tell people your feelings and emotions. If you don't feel like doing something, say so. You do not have to sacrifice yourself for other people's needs.

Don't be a walkover and stand up for yourself. Be selfish sometimes and take some pressure off.

3. Look after yourself

Our favourite part of self-love! It should never just be eat, sleep, work repeat. It should be EAT, TREAT, SLEEP, WORK, TREAT, REPEAT.

Treating yourself should be a priority. Treating yourself doesn't have to be a big thing, but you should at least do one thing to treat yourself per day.

Treating yourself can be something like taking some time to pamper yourself (more tips here), dressing up, having a glass of your favourite wine, drinking coffee or eating the whole damn slab of chocolate.

If you are having a bad day, take a moment to pamper yourself a little. Get dressed, put on your most expensive perfume and kick the day in the butt. When you look good, you feel good. Don't skimp on pampering yourself. Pampering and dressing up can make you feel like a million bucks.

You do not need to wait for an occasion to celebrate yourself. Sometimes surviving the day is occasion enough.

4. Do things that you enjoy

Do more of what makes you happy. Have fun without feeling guilty. We have needs if you like painting do it. If you like swimming, do it. If you enjoy dancing, do it.

You don't need hours to do things you love doing. Take a few minutes, even if it is just 15-20 minutes.

Spend some time with people you love and trust. People that make you feel good about yourself. Stop for a quick coffee and a catch up after work.

Conclusion

Never take yourself for granted. Make time for yourself to recoup and energise. Do things that make you happy. Celebrate something about yourself every day because you are worth it.

Imagine what you could achieve if you believed you are already enough?
